How do I make Jesus part of my life?

ADMIT

First, to invite Jesus Christ into your life you need to admit are a sinner.

This may be a tough pill to swallow for some, but we would all agree there are no perfect people. We make mistakes and do wrong things, each and every one of us. This is sin. Sin is what separates us from God and unlike us, God is perfect and without sin. He can’t be near it, He is Holy. For us to have a relationship with God we must first come to that understanding, but there is hope. God’s Son Jesus Christ is perfect. Jesus’ perfection bridges the gap between us and God. Coming to realization of our sin is the first step in discovering the unending love God has for you.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

BELIEVE

Secondly, is for us to believe Jesus is God’s Son and accept the gift of forgiveness from sin.

In old times, God accepted the sacrifice of animals for the forgiveness of a person’s sin.  The only problem with that is whenever a person committed a sin, another animal would have to be sacrificed. Over 2000 years ago, God sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to live among the people.  He lived a sinless, perfect life.  When He was crucified on the cross, He became the ultimate sacrifice for all sin past, present, and future.  Jesus became a permanent bridge for people to have a relationship with God. We only need to believe this to be true in our hearts, and if we do, God forgives our sin and comes into our life to have a relationship with us.

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

CONFESS

Third, we must confess our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

When you interviewed for that new job, applied for an a education, or decided to get married, you let the person you were talking to know about it.   God is a gentleman and will not force His way into your life, you have to invite Him in.  Let Him know you want to have a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

Here is an example of how it can be said:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, and through Him I can have forgiveness, please forgive me of my sins.  Come into my life and show me your plans and purpose for me.  Help me in my new walk with you and make me what you want me to be.  In Jesus name, Amen.

”If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
