Growing up in the Urban Core, I was in a home with four brothers and four sisters. We didn’t grow up attending church and by the time I was sixteen years old I had been in seven different schools then dropped out. Two years later, after going to two different Job Corps and spending a little time in the US Navy, I was back without hope and any real purpose or direction for my life. While helping a friend do some work on his mother’s roof, he invited me to church and I took him up on the invitation. Something started happening in my life and two weeks after that I made the decision to accept Jesus Christ into my life. While there have certainly been ups and downs along the way, God called me to be a preacher of His message to the world. I went back to school, received my GED and went on to get my Master’s Degree in Theology. I have a real passion for the youth of our community who are currently in the same situation I was during those teenage years. God has challenged me to use the difficulties and struggles of my life to make a difference in the lives of others. I know now, my purpose is to make disciples, raise up church planters, and Christian leaders.
