I was raised in a wonderful Christian home. I had learned about Jesus from a very early age. Although this was a great beginning to my story I realized it wasn’t enough to know just know things about Jesus I needed to accept him and know him personally as my Lord and Savior. In upper elementary school I gave my life to Christ at a Vacation Bible School Event at Warrington Fellowship Church in Warrington, Pennsylvania. I realized I was a sinner in great need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. As a few years went by and I entered middle school I began to really understand that knowing Jesus is a relationship. I needed to grow. In 8th grade in my room one night after a Thursday night youth ministry meeting I prayed God would help me to know him more deeply. I needed Him to really be Lord of my life and I was beginning to understand the things of God is a deeper way. My middle school years were super fun and impactful in my faith. I spent hours and hours each week studying my bible and prayer journaling. I’m thankful for a church who had members who were willing to invest in a young teenager like me. As I entered high school my family moved to Shawnee, KS. I was not happy to leave behind my beloved church, friends & youth ministry. God proved very faithful and gave me a new youth ministry and church to help me continue to grow in my faith at a Lenexa Baptist. At a THEE camp in the summer of 2005 I felt God’s call that my life would somehow involve ministry. I had no idea what that would look like as a 16 year old. Later that year I met my now husband Tavis. We married in college and served as volunteers in youth ministry for the first 6 years of our marriage. My husband currently serves now as bi-vocational college minister at our church. We have never felt as sure of God’s purposes in our life as we do today. It’s all because of Him! Our family’s life verse is Philippians 1:27, whatever happens conduct yourself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
