My life before JESUS was….well….was a typical life of a 7 year old boy.  I was lucky enough to grow up in a home that shared with me the most important gift in life.   JESUS!   So prior to beginning my relationship I didn’t have many daily struggles outside of disobeying my parents, on a regular basis!  Did I mention on a regular basis? That being said, just because my relationship with JESUS started early in my life, it doesn’t mean His death on the cross didn’t immediately impact me.

Knowing Jesus saved me from years of hurt and even past regret.  Jesus saved me from addictions, selfishness, anxiousness, loneliness and even anger. I know that my mid-school, high-school, college and adult life would have looked completely different without Jesus in my life.   When I have struggled and made sinful decisions, the freedom and forgiveness that only comes from JESUS has helped me push through.   When I have suffered losses of friends and family members, my relationship with Jesus has changed my perspective of what is truly important in life. In my times of self-doubt and loneliness, there has been nothing else that has filled my voids than my relationship with Jesus.

2 Chronicles 20:12 says “….we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”   That verse pretty much sums my entire life.  I have no idea what I am doing in life, however, keeping my eyes on God, has given me freedom, direction and meaning in life.  I am so thankful that many years ago, my family led me to understand that “Jesus is the way the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father accept through Him.” (John 14:6). Once you understand that truth about Jesus, you too will find completeness, worth, satisfaction and life you have always wanted.
