I grew up having parents who are already Born Again Christians. I count myself so blessed to grow up in an environment really surrounded by people of faith in the Lord; people who know the truth of the Gospel and are bold to speak about it as if it's just a common thing to talk about in life. Me and my siblings grew up immersed in the teachings of the Scripture through Sundays Schools in our Church. We even have a Bible lady who go to our house every Saturday to tell us Bible stories and make sure we memories Bible verses.
My parents also had been teaching me about God and His love even when I was three years old. Even at my very young age, I'm already aware that there is God in Heaven who loves me so much – that anytime and everywhere I go, I can talk to Jesus. Various life moments has cultivated my relationship with him and placed in my heart that deep longing to pray and to have that passion for reading His Word. Growing up as a Christian is hard especially when you try to connect to various kind of people of this world. The world may look at you with certain respect, but certain contempt at the same time, for a lot of your principles will often clash against their worldview.
I've got many instances where almost everyone in a particular crowd of people would show their hatred towards me because of my stand against certain ideologies that they cherish. God has been teaching us though to seek Him above all and that His truth will always prevail. As a follower of Christ, we know that we don't just wrestle against this world and it's forces, we also wrestle against our own's daily weaknesses and struggles. And God is continuously molding us. This knowledge humbles us down and teach us to rely on Him more. My struggles enable me to have deeper understanding of His grace and power and deeper appreciation of His salvation. Hence, I can stand firm on His truth and confidently proclaim about the life, hope, love, and redemption that can only be found Christ Jesus, my Lord and My Savior.
